Competition Draw

We recommend all parents and managers to check the draws the morning of the games each week.

The start to the season is usually quite hectic, and the club usually works late into the evening to react to unforeseen changes due to weather, teams withdrawing, fields, lights and other factors outside of our control.

Please continue to check the draws on the morning of the competition and monitor our Facebook page for any late announcements.

Link to the competition draws on My Sideline can be found here: https://touchfootball.com.au/Competitions/Association/penrith-touch-juniors-6674

Competition Formats

Penrith Touch normally run a Junior competition from August to December. Games are played on Monday and Wednesday afternoons. We ask that there are no more than 5 rep players per team to ensure a fair and balanced game across the board.  A rep player is a player that has participated in a Junior State Cup in previous years.

Penrith Junior Touch caters the following competitions:

  • U5 mixed on Mondays
  • U7, U9, boys and girls on Monday.
  • U11, U13, U15 boys and girls on Wednesdays.
  • Boys and Girls Draft Cup on Wednesdays (teams of combined ages from U11 to U17).

Mercy Rule

Please be advised that Penrith Touch has a 'mercy' rule in place for all junior competitions, whereby if a team is losing by a 6-point difference during a game, they will be permitted to add an extra player to the field of play.

This extra player will remain on the field up until a time where that team is then only losing by a 4-point difference, at which time they must remove the extra player from the field of play (back to even numbers).

The use of this rule within our junior competitions is designed to allow one-sided games to become more even and enjoyable in a skill and result element, when weaker teams may play against stronger teams, but also without significantly impacting the end result of the match.

This rule will also allow all players in our junior competitions to enjoy playing touch football with their friends in an environment better equipped to their development.

Penrith Touch asks that all team delegates, coaches and spectators kindly respect this rule during junior competition games if implemented by referees and remember to cheer on the kids during games. At the end of the day, we are here to allow them to enjoy playing touch football with their friends.
